Shura pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States should have indirect role in any US-EU agreements with Tehran regarding the Iranian nuclear program because the security of the Gulf Arabian region is an integral part of the GCC security. The delegation highlighted the Kingdom's role in the regional stability. There was a difference between the two sides regarding the Iranian nuclear program through negotiations between Iran and Group 5+1. The Saudi delegation said that raising sanctions on Iran will support Tehran for more interventions in the some GCC internal affairs where the US institutions considered raising sanctions gradually for limited period based on the outcomes between Tehran and Group 5+1. On Yemen, the two sides expressed worry towards the Iranian interventions in the Yemeni affairs through supporting Houthis, stressing importance of Yemen's stability. The Saudi delegation highlighted the protests organized and supported by Iran in Bahrain. The delegation of Majlis Al-Shura of the US thin tanks have lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating terrorism in addition to the Kingdom's role in supporting development in a number of Islamic, Arab and friendly countries.
