Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi welcomed participants in the coordination meeting of the group of converged thought of developing countries on environmental issues and climate change. The group includes 26 countries. The 3-day meeting is organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. In a speech during the opening of the meeting today, the minister pointed to feelings of fear and anxiety by the international community toward the potential negative effects associated with climate change. He considered the goal of reducing the emission of greenhouse gases blamed for global warming as one of the important challenges facing the world in the 21st century. Minister Al-Naimi said that taking into account fairness in achieving this goal is essential.
