A winter snowstorm disrupted air travel, rail services and major highways in Japan Saturday, dpa reported. The snow blanketed some major cities and the Japan Meteorological Agency issuing the first heavy snowfall warning for central Tokyo in 13 years. Eighty-nine people were injured in snow-related accidents in the capital and surrounding areas, broadcaster NHK reported. Japan Airlines Co and All Nippon Airways Co suspended all domestic flights to and from Tokyo Haneda Airport, beginning at noon (0300 GMT) and 3 pm, respectively. Authorities closed sections of major highways in central and eastern Japan. The agency expected more snow in eastern and north-eastern regions through Saturday night. -- SPA 14:09 LOCAL TIME 11:09 GMT تغريد
