Juan Orlando Hernandez was inaugurated as Honduran president Monday, with a four-year mandate, dpa reported. Hernandez, 45, took the oath of office before Congress Speaker Mauricio Oliva. He was later honoured by the armed forces of the Central American country. Hernandez succeeded Porfirio Lobo. Both belong to the conservative National Party. Presidents Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia, Laura Chinchilla of Costa Rica, Ricardo Martinelli of Panama, Danilo Medina of the Dominican Republic and Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan attended the inauguration ceremony in Tegucigalpa's National Stadium, as did Spain's Crown Prince Felipe.
