At least 14 people were killed Monday in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Bahia, in an unlikely traffic accident involving a bus, a truck and a tractor. The Bahia daily A Tarde reported, citing traffic police, that the tractor fell off the truck that was transporting it, and onto the road, at a bend near the town of Alagoinhas. A bus that was travelling in the opposite direction, which had left Sao Paulo on Sunday and was headed for Paulo Afonso with 38 people on board, crashed into the stray vehicle, dpa reported. Twelve people died immediately, while two more people later died of their injuries in a hospital in Alagoinhas.
