King Abdullah II of Jordan held talks in Amman today with Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harrier which dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields, particularly in the economic and commercial fields in addition to the Middle East issue. In a press statement following the meeting, the Jordanian king said the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state along the 1967 parallel with Eastern Al-Quds as capital according to the two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions and Arab peace initiative is a top strategic interest for Jordan. As for the latest developments at the Syrian arena, the Jordanian king reaffirmed his country's position to reach political comprehensive solution for the crisis in Syria that puts an end to the Syrian people's suffering, preserves the country's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, warning at the same time from the repercussions of extremism, violence and terrorism over the entire region.
