Five Egyptian policemen have been killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen south of Cairo, state television reported Thursday. The masked assailants, who rode a motorbike, fired upon the policemen at a checkpoint in the city of Beni Sueif, which is located about 100 kilometres south of the capital. Two other policemen were wounded in the attack.
