Leftist rebels in Colombia on Wednesday declared the end of a unilateral ceasefire that had held since mid-December, raising the prospect of renewed clashes with government forces. "We announce to the people of Colombia and to the world that we kept our word, despite the permanent attacks and provocations of the government's armed forces," Jorge Torres, a spokesman for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), said in Havana.
