At least 16 people were killed in attacks in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday, coinciding with a visit by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Four blasts and an attack targeting a military post also left 44 people injured, dpa quoted police as saying. Ban urged Iraq's political leaders to unite against terrorism and work together to stabilize the country. "We agreed that the challenges facing Iraq require all political leaders to fulfill their responsibilities to ensure social cohesion, dialogue and progress over political obstacles," he told a joint press conference with Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki.
