U.S. President Barack Obama met with congressional lawmakers at the White House Thursday to discuss possible reforms to the National Security Agency's (NSA's) surveillance programs. Obama had committed in August to work with Congress "to pursue reforms of our nation's surveillance programs and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters during his daily news briefing. "This meeting was an opportunity for the president to hear from the members about the work that they have been doing on these issues since they last met and to solicit their input as we near the end of our internal review," Carney said. "The president thanked the members for their ongoing work on these challenging issues." -- SPA 23:58 LOCAL TIME 20:58 GMT تغريد
