Watan newspaper said that the U.S. administration has facilitated for Nouri al-Maliki, under pressure from Tehran - to take power in Iraq and supported his pro-Iran policies in the past years. The newspaper added that this U.S.'s support has increased after the revolutions of the Arab Spring, noting that the policies of al-Maliki government has stepped up sectarianism in Iraq. On illusions of peace between the Arabs and Israel, Alriyadh newspaper expressed pessimism on prospects of peace between the two sides. The newspaper attributed its view to the fact that Israel prefers its isolation for fear of drowning in the Arab great geographic and demographic deluge.
