Bangladesh's ruling Awami League won more than two-thirds of the seats in parliament election, dpa reported. The party led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina secured 232 out of 300 parliamentary seats, according to preliminary results announced by the election commission Monday. The Jatiya party of former military commander Hussain Muhammad Ersha was second with 33 seats. With more than two-thirds of the seats in parliament, Hasina's Awami League, which had 230 seats in parliament after the 2008 general elections, is now sure to form the new government.
