Albilad newspaper highlighted the importance of the Gulf Cooperation Council Union as a developmental requirement and a strategic goal for the people of the GCC. Alyoum newspaper commented on fossil fuels: oil, natural gas and coal. The newspaper said that fossil fuels are the primary source of energy in the world. On Egyptian developments, Okaz newspaper highlighted the announcement yesterday of the date of the referendum on the new constitution. The rest of the newspapers, Almadinah, Alwatan, Alriyadh and Alsharq, commented on the developments of the Syrian situation including the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria, the suspension of arms to Syrian opposition and the Geneva 2 conference.
