The search for casualties after a police helicopter crashed into a pub in the Scottish city of Glasgow ended late Monday, with nine people confirmed dead, according to dpa. "I can confirm that the search and recovery operation has now concluded and we are satisfied there are no further fatalities at the scene," said deputy chief constable Rose Fitzpatrick. The aircraft plunged through the flat roof of the Clutha Vaults pub on the banks of the river Clyde, as 120 people were listening to a live band. The three people aboard the Eurocopter - the civilian pilot and two police officers - as well as six people inside the pub, were killed. It was still unclear on Monday what caused the EC-135 helicopter to drop out of the sky "like a stone," as witnesses have described it.
