The United Nations General Assembly has passed by majority a draft resolution presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on behalf of 66 member countries of the UN to enhance and protect human rights in Syria and stop all kinds of killings and atrocities committed by Damascus government. At the 48th session of the UN General Assembly which was held yesterday at the UN headquarters in New York as many as 123 states voted for resolution No. A/C.3/68/L.42LRev.1 which was drafted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and sponsored by 66 countries, 46 abstained and 13 opposed. The voting was based on a thorough debate on the state of human rights in Syria, as well as reports submitted by UN human rights related institutions and humanitarian relief operations in Syria. --More 14:56 LOCAL TIME 11:56 GMT تغريد
