AlHijjah 26, 1434, Oct 31, 2013, SPA -- A Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) official said Thursday that Israel's most recent settlement expansion plans are proof that it is not a partner for peace. Member of the PLO Executive Committee Hanan Ashrawi said in a statement that Israel is not interested in the two-state solution, rather in only creating "greater Israel." "The Israeli occupation is exposing its true intentions of creating ‘greater Israel' rather than a two-state solution," said Ashrawi. "The Israeli government has proven once again that it is not a partner for peace nor a member of the international community that respects the global rule of law." Ashrawi said the Israeli announcements "are the latest affront directed at US Secretary of State John Kerry and the US administration's efforts," which led to resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations in July. According to WAFA, she called on the US "to end Israel's culture of impunity, exceptionalism and entitlement," warning that "such dangerous policies are liable to destroy the chances of peace and to provoke parallel violence and extremism throughout the region.' The PLO official said "Israel is willfully and flagrantly violating international law and the requirements for peace in its latest escalation of settlements expansion," adding: 'We call upon the members of the international community to hold Israel accountable by upholding their own national laws and international obligations."
