AlHijjah 23, 1434, Oct 28, 2013, SPA -- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued a direction to support the polio campaign in Pakistan and participate in it by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organization. This was announced by Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah in remarks today during his presiding over the Kingdom's delegation to the meetings of the sixtieth session of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean held in the Sultanate of Oman. Dr Al-Rabiah said that this support came in response by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to a request by the World Health Organization, noting that the support includes assistance in kind. For his part, director of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region Dr. Ala Din Alwan said that this initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is very good for all countries in the region and in particular countries in the region which suffer from polio, and it is not strange that the Government of the Kingdom supports Islamic countries.
