AlQa'dah 26, 1434, Oct 2, 2013, SPA -- Ministers of Culture of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States met here today within the framework of mutual cooperation and coordination in the cultural aspects among the GCC countries. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting. The opening session was chaired by Bahraini Minister of Culture Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa. In her speech during the opening session, the Bahraini Minister of Culture stressed that the decisions and recommendations of the meeting will return benefit and welfare to the GCC states, and elevate the culture movement. Shaikha Mai highlighted the Keenness of the ministers to attend the meeting, in addition to their stances from the joint cultural movement, which reflect the true desire of their peoples and countries for the necessity of having integration in the cultural planning, and developing the joint cultural action. For his part, GCC Assistant General Secretary for Cultural and Media Affairs Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghassani said that culture with its general and comprehensive concept is considered a true and a clear reflection of the development and progress in various fields. Al-Ghassani lauded the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during its chairmanship in last year in addition to the Saudi efforts in achieving aims and aspirations in enhancing cultural cooperation among the GCC member states. --More 20:08 LOCAL TIME 17:08 GMT تغريد
