Zayani reminded that during last year's Donors Conference held in Riyadh and Yemen Friends Meeting in New York in September, as much as $8 billion was donated to Yemen, with the GCC member countries shouldering the lion's share to implement the temporary program for stability and development over the period from 2012 - 2014 aiming at providing the necessary humanitarian needs for Yemeni people and creating the proper environment to restore security and stability in Yemen, a continuation to financial support provided at London Conference 2006 exceeding $6 billion. He noted that announcing a financial pledge is a crucial step but to live up to that pledge is the only way to enable the world community to implement the gradual programs for stability and development in Yemen. He expressed hope that the Yemeni government would soon reach arrangements with the donors to follow-up the transaction smoothly and on time. Al-Zayani said Yemen would present a thorough report to this meeting on the developments of the financial support on on hand and the obstacles on the ground derailing the Yemeni government from proceeding with the economic program on the other.
