AlQa'dah 16, 1434, Sep 22, 2013, SPA -- Voter participation in German national elections stood at 41.4 per cent as of 2 pm (1200 GMT), election officials say, suggesting total turnout would be higher than four years ago, dpa reported. In the last parliamentary elections, in 2009, 36.1 per cent of eligible voters had cast their ballots by midday. The figure does not include mail-in votes, which have seen an uptick in popularity this election.
