AlQa'dah 16, 1434, Sep 22, 2013, SPA -- Typhoon Usagi killed two people and displaced 20,000 people in the Philippines, dpa cited the national disaster agency as saying Sunday. Usagi battered the northern Philippines with maximum winds of 185 kilometres per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 220 kph, uprooting trees and cutting off electricity in affected areas. The two dead were passengers of a boat that capsized off the northern province of Aurora in stormy seas. Three other passengers were still missing and feared dead. The weather bureau said Usagi was moving further away from the Philippines, but the country was still expected to experience monsoon rains in the coming week.
