Christine Lagarde spoke Thursday to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a few weeks before the IMF is to release its latest global economic forecasts at the lending agency's semi-annual meeting in Washington. She said advanced economies are in a better place than they were six months ago with U.S. growth picking up and Europe emerging from a long recession.
