AlQa'dah 12, 1434, Sep 18, 2013, SPA -- The Obama administration is telling federal agencies to prepare for a possible government shutdown if lawmakers cannot agree on legislation to temporarily fund federal operations. The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) sent a letter to agency chiefs this week ordering them to make contingency plans if Congress does not reach a deal to fund the government after the current fiscal year ends September 30. The letter from OMB director Sylvia Burwell said there still is enough time for Congress to prevent a lapse in funding, but "prudent management" requires that the government prepare for a shutdown.
