AlQa'dah 10, 1434, Sep 16, 2013, SPA -- U.N. inspectors said in an eagerly-awaited report Monday there is "clear and convincing evidence" that chemical weapons were used on a large scale in an attack last month in Syria that killed hundreds of people. Moreover, the report on the August 21 poison-gas attack on a Damascus suburb confirms the use of the deadly nerve agent sarin. "On the basis of the evidence obtained during the investigation of the Ghouta incident, the conclusion is that chemical weapons have been used in the ongoing conflict between the parties in the Syrian Arab Republic ... against civilians, including children, on a relatively large scale," the report said, according to Reuters. "In particular, the environmental, chemical, and medical samples we have collected provide clear and convincing evidence that surface-to-surface rockets containing the nerve agent sarin were used," the report said. "This result leaves us with the deepest concern," the report said.
