AlQa'dah 7, 1434, Sep 13, 2013, SPA -- Three people were reported killed Thursday in deadly flash floods that tore through Colorado, sweeping away homes and cars and cutting off mountain towns, dpa reported. According to Colorado TV station 9News.com, one person was killed when floodwaters caused a home to collapse in Jamestown. Emergency workers recovered additional bodies in the town of Boulder and along Interstate 25, the report said. The flash floods, which topped dams and caused numerous mudslides, came after the state was hit by heavy rainfall, at times dumping almost 3 centimetres an hour. Multiple homes were destroyed in Boulder County and hundreds were forced to evacuate, according to the Denver Post. According to Weather.com, Boulder received more than 18 centimetres of rain in 15 hours, easily beating the previous record rainfall of 12 centimetres in 1919.
