AlQa'dah 7, 1434, Sep 13, 2013, SPA -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday welcomed moves by Syria to join the Chemical Weapons Convention, dpa reported. "This confirms the sincere intention of the Syrian partners to find a solution to the crisis," Putin said at the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. China's president called for a ceasefire in the Syrian conflict. "Peaceful negotiations now have to lead to political settlement," Xi said, stating that Syrian regime has to destroy his chemical weapons quickly.
