AlQa'dah 4, 1434, Sep 10, 2013, SPA -- At least 43 people were killed Monday in Guatemala when a bus went off the road and plummeted 75 metres down a ravine, the authorities said. The accident happened in Chimaltenango province, 60 kilometres west of Guatemala City. A local Fire Department spokesman told a radio station that the bus was carrying about 85 people. Scores of people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals, according to DPA. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. Guatemalan media reported that brake failure was the most likely cause, while Communications Minister Alejandro Sinibaldi said speeding the probable cause.
