A BUS RAN OFF A MOUNTAIN ROAD AND CRASHED DOWN A RAVINE IN CENTRAL MEXICO ON SATURDAY, KILLING 13 PEOPLE, RESCUE OFFICIALS SAID ACCORDING TO REUTERS. THE BUS PLUNGED DOWN THE 330-FOOT (100-METER) RAVINE NEAR THE TOWN OF PACHUCA TO THE NORTH OF MEXICO CITY. RESCUE TEAMS USED ROPES AND STRETCHERS TO PULL THE 15 SURVIVORS AND 13 DEAD OUT OF THE RAVINE. FIRE CHIEF ALEJANDRO MORENO SAID THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WAS NOT CLEAR. THE BUS WAS ON ITS WAY TO THE CAPITAL FROM THE EASTERN CITY OF TAMPICO ON THE GULF OF MEXICO.
