According to AP, Mehmet Ceylan, the governor for Nevsehir province, said the attack occurred Monday in Turkey's central Cappadocia region, which is famous for its volcanic rock formations and its centuries-old underground cities. Ceylan said the motive for the attack was not known and police were searching for the assailant or assailants.
