Malta struck a deal with Libya on Monday to buy oil and other energy products at preferential rates. According to AP, the agreement was signed by Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his Libyan counterpart Ali Zeidan in Valletta. It will go into effect as soon as Libya resumes normal production, which is expected soon. "This will shield Malta to stabilize the price of fuel amid international price fluctuations. It is groundbreaking," Muscat said. The preferential rates will include crude and processed oil, jet fuel and liquefied petroleum gas.
