Published in Saudi Press Agency on 28 - 08 - 2013

Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out to the Syrian regime's refusal to all sincere Arab attempts and its refusal to cooperate with all the initiatives, as well as its insistence to go ahead with its error and commit horrific massacres against its people, especially after the use of internationally forbidden chemical weapons in the massacre inflicted Damascus' countryside recently.
He also said that this matter is now required a tough international stance to stop the human tragedy of the Syrian people, especially that the Syrian regime has lost its Arab identity and is no longer affiliated in any way for the Syrian civilization which has always been the heart of Arabism.
Concerning Egypt, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said in his speech "I would like here to express great satisfaction of what the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt is now witnessing with the return of tranquility, security and stability, in the context of serious efforts exerted by the Egyptian interim government based on the political future map drawn for the return of constitutional life, with the participation of all political forces and factions without exception. This development gives hope in the return of Egypt to exercise its important regional and international role."
"Dear brothers .. No matter how many issues and crises in the Arab region are, but that the Palestinian issue remains the first issue of Arabs, and should not be absent from our efforts to find a just, lasting and comprehensive solution based on the Arab peace initiative, to achieve the goal of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with the holy Al-Quds as its capital,"
"Thus, the success of the recently resumed Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations, depends primarily on Israel's commitment to peace process, its principles and bases based on the principles of international legitimacy, its resolutions and agreed accords," Prince Saud Al-Faisal confirmed.
Concluded his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated his thanks and appreciation to his Moroccan counterpart and the members of the Ministerial and the Preparatory Committee as well as businessmen from both countries for their efforts in preparing the 12th session of the Saudi-Moroccan Joint Commission, wishing all success for it.
