El Salvador's football federation said on Thursday it had suspended 20 current or former international players as it investigates match-fixing allegations over the period 2010-12, dpa reported. The players, and another two professionals, will be prevented from all footballing activities for 30 days, the federation said. Over that time, investigators are expected to establish how involved each of the players was in match-fixing. All but two of the players, who are active in Finland and Kazakhstan, play in El Salvador. Police and prosecutors on Wednesday searched the homes of 11 of the players and confiscated material, including computers and mobile telephones, La Prensa Grafica reported. FESFUT authorities said that they would keep FIFA informed of the course of the investigation, and that players found guilty of match-fixing risked a life ban. The TV network ESPN reported in July that the El Salvador team that played the Gold Cup in the United States featured at least one player who had been involved in match-fixing in the past. -- SPA 21:13 LOCAL TIME 18:13 GMT تغريد
