At least three police officers and a Maoist rebel were killed in a gunbattle in India's central state of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, officials said. The clash took place after a police patrol spotted a group of insurgents in a forest in Narayanpur district, DPA reported. "Two policemen died on the spot, while another succumbed to bullet injuries on the way to the hospital," said Usha Samrath, a police officer at the district control room.
