Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, has appointed Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as new prime minister of Kuwait and assigned him to form the new government. In a decree issued here today, the Emiri court, said the Emir of Kuwait has accepted the resignation of the government of Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah yesterday and assigned the ministers to run their urgent ministries' affairs pending the formation of a new government following the announcement of the results of National Assembly's elections which were held on Saturday. Kuwaiti news agency said consultations to form the new administration started today.
