The average global temperature in June was 16.14 degrees Celsius, the fifth-hottest June on record, US government climate scientists said Thursday, according to dpa. Hardest hit by higher-than-average temperatures were Northern and Eastern Europe, western Russia, northern Siberia, Alaska, north-central Canada and the western United States. Cooler temperatures visited Western and Southern Europe, Central Asia and most of India, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said. June marked the 340th consecutive month - more than 28 years -with a global temperature above the 20th-century average, NOAA said. The last below-average global temperature for any month was February 1985. -- SPA 21:40 LOCAL TIME 18:40 GMT تغريد
