Saudi Ambassador to Algeria, Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, has delivered 200 tons of dates to the World Food Program, as a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The delivering ceremony was attended by the Program's Representative Dr. Osama Othman and the Secretary General of Algerian Red Crescent Authority Hassan Boshakor. The Ambassador said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the gift is a continuation of the humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which include all people, expressing the hope that existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the World Food Program contributes to achieving the desired objectives in various countries around the world. He noted that estimates indicate that the Kingdom has spent about $ 100 billion since 1973 until today.
