The Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali people started receiving a shipment of Saudi dates in preparation for delivering it to the victims of famine in that country. The national campaign to help the Somalis was ordered by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The campaign has initiated coordination for receipt of the 500 tons of dates of a total of 2,000 tons to be delivered by sea to Somalia. Meanwhile, a Saudi relief plane loaded with 8 tons of medicines to combat cholera in Cameroon arrived in Yaounde. The plane was received by Saudi Ambassador to Cameroon Mahmoud Bin Hussein Qattan who delivered the consignment to Cameroonian Minister of Health Andre Mama Fouda. Fouda expressed his thanks to the King for this noble humanitarian stance. The ambassador also expressed his thanks to and appreciation of the King for this humanitarian support. In Algiers, Dr. Sami Bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, Saudi Ambassador to Algeria, delivered a consignment of 206 tons of dates as the Kingdom's assistance to Algeria under the World Food Program. The consignment was handed over by the ambassador to Dr Osama Osman, Director of the Program's Executive Office in Algiers.
