Five people were killed and 150 prisoners escaped during a prison riot in Indonesia's North Sumatra province, official and media reports said Friday. Inmates set fire to the Tanjung Gusta prison in the provincial capital Medan and broke out of their cells late Thursday following a power blackout that knocked out water supply, TVOne news channel reported. About 150 prisoners escaped, Deputy Justice Minister Denny Indrayana said. Three prison workers and two inmates were found dead with severe burns, according to TVOne.
