U.S. authorities continue to search Monday for a tugboat that sank in the Mississippi River, prompting the closure of a portion of the river south of New Orleans over the weekend. The closed portion was reopened Sunday night to alternating one-way vessel traffic after no navigation hazards were detected. The Coast Guard said in a statement that it was unclear when the portion of river would be open to two-way traffic. Authorities still are searching for the 15-meter tugboat, which sank Saturday. The cause was not known. Two people aboard were rescued.
