The Specialized Penal Court in Jeddah has convicted 7 persons accused of riots in the Eastern Region, sentenced them to imprisonment ranging from 5 to 10 years, and prevented them from traveling abroad. The accused persons were convicted of various charges, including joining the so-called Movement of 4th March Youth in Ahsa; Ahsa Freedom Movement on the Website calling for demonstrations and gatherings; communicating with followers of the website and hiding them; follow-up of a foreign satellite channel calling for sedition, division and partisanship in this country; interaction with its ideas and supporting them; calling for marches and demonstrations hostile to the state; support for the so-called Bahrain's Revolutionaries; call for solidarity with them; confrontation of Peninsula Shield forces stationed in Bahrain; and writing publications opposed to the state. The Attorney General and all convicted persons decided to object to the judgment.
