A Coptic Christian priest was shot to death and at least 13 people were injured Saturday in violence in Egypt after the army's ouster of president Mohammed Morsi. Morsi's opponents gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square tightened checkpoints at the entrances to the central plaza after overnight clashes outside the nearby TV building, dpa reported. Tensions were high after 36 people were killed and more than 1,000 were injured Friday across Egypt, health authorities said. At least 12 people were hurt Saturday in fighting between opponents and backers of Morsi for the second-consecutive day in the Nile Delta province of Damanhur, local media said. Morsi's supporters blocked a major road in Cairo to press for his reinstatement, the state-run newspaper al-Ahram reported. A Coptic priest, meanwhile, was killed in the in northern Sinai's main city of al-Arish, when gunmen on a motorbike opened fire on him, a security source said.
