Pakistan forces Saturday retook control of a hospital from militants as at least 24 people, including four rebels, were killed and a historic building destroyed in attacks in the south-western province of Balochistan, said officials. According to dpa, the joint operation by special forces, paramilitary troops and police lasted for several hours against gunmen inside Bolan Medical Complex in the provincial capital Quetta, interior minister Nisar Ali Khan said. "Four militants were killed and another arrested by the forces before the operation was completed," Khan said. "Our four paramilitary soldiers and head of district administration were also martyred in the action." Khan said government forces freed around 35 hostages held by the militants.
