Industrial production registered a monthly rise of 0.4 per cent in the 17-nation eurozone in April, according to seasonally-adjusted data published Wednesday by European statistical institute Eurostat. Analysts had expected output to remain stagnant, DPA reported. Underlining the fragile state of the currency bloc, the data showed output remaining 0.6 per cent below last year's level. The April rise was weaker than the 0.9 per cent recorded in revised data for March. Production of durable consumer goods was down 2.7 per cent month-on-month.
