A regional lawmaker and his driver, who were killed in an overnight attack in north-west Pakistan, were buried Tuesday, police said. Two assailants on a motorbike fired at the vehicle of Fareed Khan Monday night in Hangu district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, said police officer Umar Hayat. "Khan and his driver were killed on the spot and his brother was critically injured," Hayat said. The perpetrators fled the scene, he was quoted as saying by DPA. Khan was elected as an independent candidate for the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provincial legislature, but later joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party led by former cricketer Imran Khan.
