Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry today condemned in the strongest words the remarks made on May 18, 2013 by Hussein Ameer Abdullahyan, Iran's Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, to Fares News Agency, which the Ministry considered an unacceptable and totally rejected form of interference in the affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and an irresponsible behavior in terms of regional and international relations, categorically contradicting the principles of the United Nations, the international law and the Islamic Cooperation Organization charter, all of them guarantee the respect of other countries' sovereignty and independence. The Ministry confirms that continuation and repetition of these dangerous threats and political, religious and media provocation, is a rejected matter that evidently reflects the expansionist greediness of Iran towards an Arab member country of the United Nations, Arab league, GCC, Islamic Cooperation Organization and Non-alignment Movement, the threats that would cause tension and have serious results on security and stability in the Arab Gulf region.
