Three soldiers were killed in India-administered Kashmir on Friday when suspected militants opened fire on a patrol, police said according to dpa. The incident took place in Tral area of Pulwama district, about 35kilometres south of Jammu and Kashmir state capital Srinagar. The army has cordoned off the area and launched a search for the militants. The incident came a day after a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, an Islamic militant group, was killed in Srinagar. Three policemen were injured in the exchange of gunfire.
