Saudi Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Faisal bin Hassan Trad led Saudi Arabia's delegation participating in the Donors International Conference for Donors for Development of Mali held in Brussels at the invitation of France, EU and Mali. During the Conference, Ambassador Trad delivered a speech in which he said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been one of the largest supporters of the Government of Mali since 1976, as the total amount provided by the Kingdom so far reached $ 300 million for the establishment of energy, education, transport, health and agriculture projects there. He also said that the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently donated $ 4 million to the World Food Programme and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to assist Somali refugees and people in need of financial support. Ambassador Trad said that the Saudi Government continues to support the efforts of the Malian government and the international community to restore security, stability, development and prosperity of Mali.
