Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday congratulated Nawaz Sharif on his victory in Pakistani elections and invited him to visit India for talks on improving ties, according to dpa. "The Prime Minister expressed India's desire to work with the new government of Pakistan in charting a new course for the relationship between the two countries," a government statement said. "He (Singh) invited Mr Nawaz Sharif to visit India at a mutually convenient time," the statement said. Singh also congratulated the people and politicians in Pakistan for braving threats of violence and voting in large numbers.
