At least 32 people were killed Wednesday when a passenger bus skidded off a mountain road and plunged into a river in northern India, officials said. According to dpa, the accident occurred near the town of Kullu, some 200 kilometres north of the state capital, Shimla. "Thirty-two bodies have been fished out of the fast-flowing Beas river. The victims include 10 women and two children," district official Sharab Negi said by telephone. "The death toll could rise ... one or two people are still missing," he added. A total of 23 people were injured and were being treated at local hospitals, Negi said.
