At least six people were killed and 25 injured Monday in a bomb blast at an election rally of a religious party in Pakistan's troubled north-western tribal region, officials said. The attack targeted a meeting of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) in Sewak area of Kurram, one of the seven tribal districts where militants are active, Jalil Jan, a JUI-F leader told a local broadcaster. Asghar Jan, the head of local Sadda hospital, told dpa that 24 people were also injured in the attack. Riaz Khan Mehsud, the head of district administration, told local media that the explosives were planted inside a religious seminary where the gathering was taking place. No one took responsibility for the attack.
